Women’s Place: A Made Woman
PRAYER FOR JUNE
(Matthew 6:9-13):
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
We are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
I would just like to share some thoughts with you about how blessed we are to be of the feminine gender, and I would like to title my words “ I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Some years ago there was a commercial on TV where a woman was saying: “I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan,” and then speaking to her husband she would say, “and never let you forget your my man”, then she finished by saying, “‘cause I’m a woman!”, therefore implying that a woman can do it all! But sadly, she came to an incomplete conclusion. She forgot to say, “I can do all things in Christ Jesus who strengthens me.” as it says in Philippians 4:13.
How many of us, do or have done this; right ladies? We get home from work only to wash clothes, cook dinner, clean the house, all the while your child is hanging on to your skirt… and we must attend to them and then of course there is still the husband to look after. It really is a delicate balance that we maintain each day, many times without any time for ourselves, really, until we feel we are on a carousel and sometimes we may even think, when does this stop? But we do it every single day that God gives us until we die. We wear all the hats that we are given to wear, right? We are mothers, daughters, and many of us are wives. We are employees. We are members of this church. W are sisters, citizens of this city, and country, we are, ...we are,.... we are. And each one of these personages has its own identity and its own list of duties, and its own life!!
So how do we manage this all and still maintain our mental health? Because we are Fearfully and Wonderfully made. Glory be to God!
Not only do we do all of this,..... we do this with joy in our hearts.... we rejoice while doing it! And you know what else? We are beautiful besides !!
How many of you sing , hum or whistle while you work? Of course, if we do otherwise what a boring day it would be.
So ladies what is it in us exactly that allows us to do what we do? That even drives us to do more always striving for excellence? Because above all else, we first honor our Lord and Master. Our maker. He who’s spirit flows through us, the lifter of our head.
We are women of integrity, and integrity is what defines us. The rules of this world do not influence us. Women of God are not of this world and in fact we separate ourselves from the standards of this world. In todays world, everything is 50/50, new brides today want to be sure that they are not doing one thing more than the husband is, “I changed the diaper last time, you have to change him this time…” In everything in life, the rules have changed and many times are they are thrown out the window.
We can join the military, and go to combat, play football, use any bathroom, run a nation, walk around half naked, and fly to the moon. In the midst of all this chaos how does a Christian woman survive?
Because of our faithfulness to God and with that comes integrity! Integrity is defined as a firm adherence to a code or standard of values. Integrity is being committed to a life of excellence.
Women of God, with integrity, separate themselves from world standards. She stands firm to the Standards that God has spoken of in His Word.
A women of integrity is wise, she knows how to humble herself, and to stand up for what she believes when the need arises. She is faithful to God and his commandments and is not ashamed to share His message with others. She goes beyond what is expected of her, even when no one notices her work. She always strives to do her best.
How? Again, with faithfulness to God with integrity!
Psalm 139:14 says; “I praise you because i am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Proverbs 10:9 says “Whosoever walks in integrity, walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.”
This then, defines the Christian woman. That’s why we walk with confidence each day, happy in our situation, with joy in our hearts, secure in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We walk proudly because we are fearfully and wonderfully made!
So In closing I want to leave you with these three scriptures to start and end your day:
1. Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me
2. Psalm 139:14: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
and
3. Proverbs 10:9: Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
May God richly bless you. Be proud to be a Christian woman. You are fearfully and
wonderfully made!!
